Winner Selection
One of the most important aspects of ORE Pump is how winners are chosen. Unlike traditional casinos, the selection is on-chain and verifiable.
How It Works
On-Chain Randomness
The winner is selected using the ORE v3 smart contract's built-in randomness mechanism:
- Betting closes at a predetermined slot
- Block hash is captured from a future slot
- Randomness is derived from blockchain data
- Winner is selected among the 25 coins
This happens entirely on the Solana blockchain - no server-side manipulation is possible.
Why This Matters
Provably Fair
Unlike traditional gambling:
- You can verify the randomness on-chain
- No one can predict or manipulate the outcome
- The smart contract code is public
No House Manipulation
The ORE Pump team cannot:
- Choose winners
- Favor certain coins
- Change outcomes after the fact
The blockchain is the ultimate arbiter.
Understanding Odds
Equal Probability
Each of the 25 coins has an equal 4% chance (1/25) of winning.
Your Bet Doesn't Affect Selection
Whether you bet 0.01 SOL or 10 SOL, the winner is determined independently. Your bet amount affects your share of the pot, not which coin wins.
Payout Calculation
When your coin wins, your payout depends on:
- Total pot size - All SOL bet on all coins
- Your share - Your bet relative to others on the winning coin
- Platform fee - A small percentage (see Fee Structure)
Example
- Total pot: 100 SOL
- Winning coin received: 20 SOL in bets
- Your bet on winner: 2 SOL (10% of winning coin's bets)
- Your payout: ~10% of the pot (after fees)
Verifying Results
For the technically curious, you can verify any round's result:
- Find the round's transaction on Solana Explorer
- Check the block hash used for randomness
- Verify it matches the on-chain record
We're working on adding a "Verify" button directly in the UI.
Is It Really Random?
Yes. The randomness comes from:
- Solana block hashes (unpredictable)
- Future slot data (can't be known in advance)
- Smart contract logic (publicly auditable)
No human intervention is possible once betting closes.
Common Questions
Can the team pick winners?
No. The smart contract determines winners, and we don't control the smart contract (it's by Regolith Labs).
Are some coins luckier than others?
No. Each coin has exactly the same 4% chance each round.
What if there's a tie?
There can't be a tie - exactly one coin is selected each round.
